The entrance to the reception hall is in the “mukō karahafu” style, set apart from the main line of the roof like a bay window and fronted with a bargeboard. Though the reception hall building was rebuilt in 1715 by IGI Tadayoshi, a chief retainer of Okayama domain, the entranceway is said to have been made later. It is said that the entranceway was expanded so that Igi could park his palanquin directly inside when visiting Jōenji temple.
